‘Vacation Spot’ is a series of 12 digital collages exploring the feelings that surface when being on holiday.
In a new place, you are anonymous. You can be whoever you want to be. Using this as a discovery exercise, you unearth a deeper understanding of yourself.
As materials I used my own photos featuring some Vacation Spots, and, of course, myself and my beautiful feet.
THE CITY
A series of collages exploring the idea of anonymity and ownership on instagram.
On social media platforms, such as Instagram, you can find a plethora of accounts that share feet images from other people’s accounts without credit.
Most of the images are not tagged with the original creator’s handle. These images are then reposted by other such accounts, so the owners of the feet enter this chain of anonymity.
The most asked question in the comment section of these posts is: “Do you have his @?”
I decided to put some of these boys in random places around europe.
What is This anonymous pair of feet doing in this random block in berlin? We’ll never know.
The background of these collages are photos I took while visiting several cities around Europe.
The feet come from feet pictures posted by these aggregator Instagram accounts.
